If you aren't sure, I've created a comparison chart of all the main features of each version, along with a price comparison of each version at several online stores. If you've used Quicken before, chances are you already know which version you should get. There is also a Rental Property Manager version, which has everything that's in Home & Business, in addition to extra tools for managing rental properties. The Deluxe and Premier versions don't have all the features that are in Home & Business. In this review, I use the Home & Business version of Quicken 2016. This year's release hasn't added a lot of new features, but does include a new online bill synchronization tool.

Then they started sunset policy and I have to buy a new version every 3 years. Then the Y2K think forced me to buy another version. Got upset when I had to buy a upgrade to windows version. Personally I just need a simple check register. It seems to freeze up when I'm just taking care of something quickly and waiting for it to finish. So if I get distracted on something else I sometimes forget what I was doing and who knows how long I've actually waited. Often I start the online update and switch to another window (because I know it'll be a while). There's undoubtedly some data mining under the guise of user stats. We know it does some communication at start up due to the occasional banner ads.
